Cabarillo, My Aunt in Missouri made this dish every thanksgiving day, and christmas.
I can't for the life of me remember the Oster soup she bought, but just get one with lot' s of Osters , plus buy a jar of fresh osters, and do this,
IN a simple 4 inch wide by about 8 inch dish, do this, sort of, I'm guessing, but I usually guess well, you are layering, on the bottom, place the fresh or canned osters, cut some butter, and throw it all over them, layer of crackers, saltine, agree, and keep doint this until you are done. Butter on each layer is key, and so is saltine crackers, and lot's of fresh or canned osters. Once at the top of your casorol dish, pour all of the contents of your oster soup over the dish. Cant think of the brand of oster soup she used, but advise is , dont get cheap, get the best oyster soup you can buy. Butter and crackers is also real important. Dong get stingy, and crumble those saltines at will. Did I mention to layer the oystes? That's the recipie.......suit it to your taste!
Compliments of my deceased Aunt Irene of Sweet Springs, Missouri.
That's it, Oyster Casserole..........
