Easy. Follow these steps:
#1. Take friend out for some beers to pay him back for letting you stay at his place.
#2. Pose him a hypothetical question. "If someone saw your wife cuddling up to another dude, would you want them to tell you"? What would your friend want and what would he do?
#3. You buddy gives you the answer to your question, and he can't really get mad at you for following his own advice.

This is what I'd do.
1. Wait a day (If she comes home early and says her trip ran short, then maybe there's nothing to worry about and you misread what you saw.)
2. If she comes home from the airport tomorrow, tell your buddy that you saw something. All he has to do is check her passport to confirm if she ever did go to the UK. If there's nothing there then he has solid proof a trip to the UK didn't happen, she's been caught in a lie, and you have what you saw.

I've been on the other end of this.
You can't call yourself his friend if you don't tell him what you saw. He'll have to make his own decisions from there, but at least he won't be making them in the dark.

How about telling her what you saw. You can tell her to fess up, or you will tell him.
Bitch. That can backfire on the OP and his best friend too. It gives her a chance to make up a counter story, maybe even something involving the OP, and also a head start to clean out bank accounts, grab credit cards, and whatever else she can get her hands on. Lying and deceitfulness always play a major role in the cheating game. The OP might also want to consider how he would personally deal with the part he played in this if some form of violent act were to result from him tipping off his best friend. It could and sometimes does happen.

Play it by ear from there... That's what I was thinking too. Let him know what you think you saw in a very casual way, and let him decide what he wants to do without any pressure from you (even inadvertent influence).
