Looks like it might be a model 22 with dyed camel bone scales. Value is just an opinion but i'd GUESS 150.00 to 250.00 depending on how bad you want it. As stated, a PM to David at Winstonknives would answer all your questions, David is a great guy to talk to and a true gentleman. He usually answers the phone himself. I've got 3 of Davids knives presently along with 4 other customs by three other makers and Davids work takes a back seat to no-one in my opinion.
Good luck and enjoy, Guy

It looks a lot like my #25. Agree, does look like camel bone on the handle.
It's worth pretty much whatever it was you paid for it.

It looks more like a Model 25 to me too. The blade on a Model 22 is longer than that mentioned on this particular knife, although the handle shape on this knife looks like the one on a Modell 22 too. It's likely on older knife because the scales appear to be attached using screws, and I don't believe David has used screws on his fixed blades for a while now. It's hard for me to tell about the scales (I'm looking at this on my iPhone and the detail isn't great),...are they supposed to look like that, or is there some oxidation apparent on the scales? The Damascus could be David's own making using 1095 and 15N20. It's a nice blade.

Agreed the 22 in the knives gallery is totally different, but their is a 22 (the last knife) in the example knives with a shorter blade and 3 pins or screws in the handle very much like the one shown. Truth is it may very well be a one of a kind ordered special by someone, as David will work with you on whatever you want. Mr. Winston would know for sure, but like stated, it sure is nice.

I saw a Model 22 with Gold Stabilized Maple scales with 3 screws on David's website. That particular blade looks longer to me than the blade pictured at the beginning of this thread, and it's listed as 4 and 1/8 inches...longer than the one mentioned at the beginning of this thread. When I ordered my Model 22 I asked David if he still used the 3 screws (as I liked them)...he said "no" and said he'd quit making them that way a good while back. It's a nice looking blade regardless of what it is, whether it's a 22 or a 25 or a modification of either, or even something else.

Blue Whale penis bone scales...that would be an original scale material.

Sorry I am late with a reply. That is a model 25 with dyed camel bone. When Gene started making knives we decided to not use the "sharpening choil" any longer. Thats how long ago that is. Also have not used screws in about that long unless it is a special order. 136 layer ladder damascus, 1095 and 15n20. BTW, I would take a foot or so of whale dick if anyone has any. Off the big end of course.

Only a foot? Is that all you are equipped to handle?
