That one always makes me laugh!
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

I've got the front door open and the screen door latched. Back bedroom window open for a crossbreeze. Inside temp78. Only a little cooler outside.

I'll take a month of bitter cold over 4 months of 100 degree temps and/or high humidity any day.

I've been told that you "Northerners" DO have all 4 seasons - you just refer to them as June, July, August, and winter!

You learn to live with it. Grew up on a farm and when 10 yrs old dad was in hospital, brother had pneumonia and mom sick also, Had to feed 45 head of cattle the little rectangular bales and got my first case of frost bite. Now been working for about 28 yrs, 80% outside and yes it does get old. But we do appreciate the summers probably more that anyone else. Wouldn't live anywhere else...well maybe Montana.

Re SamOlson: And your point is....????? I grew up in NODAK - Stanton, to be specific - a bit upriver from Bismarck. Maybe you have to spend time in Interior Alaska, and/or the Arctic to appreciate how good you guys have it in summer or winter... cold/warmth and bugs-wise. I do miss sharptails, pheasant, fire-flies, crickets, the scents of drying hay, skunk-in-a-distance, horse sweat, and even cow manure.... On the other hand, we have moose, bears, caribou, sheep, goats, and a few other limited species, all of which are in rather short supply in ND, which pretty much only has those dinky deer and a few pronghorns... Forecast for tomorrow here is a high of 6 below, chill to -30 or so with the wind. I'm going hunting on either the ATV or snowmachine - I haven't yet decided.... Next week, I'll be in Kona. Don't bother trying to call.
