Maybe we should make the media register to exercise their 1st Amndmnt rights.
Mistruths or distortions of truths could be a felony, and you lose your right to the 1A.
To help them stay honest, perhaps limit the # of 1A public comments to 3 per week. Who NEEDS more than that?

Just thinking out loud here. i agree completely!, after all, aren't they using these comments and missinformation to shape public opinion, therefore, changing votes that would otherwise go to another candidate, or to use the public in general to put pressure on an elected official to enact certain policies?. lobbying should be illegal as well, as well as a politician who lies about an opponent or other facts in an attempt to sway public opinion.
