Anyone familiar with Marlin Model 9 9MM carbines commonly known as "camp 9's"?I picked one up at a gun show today.I'm looking forward to shooting it.Ought to be fun.
Stan in SC Stan-they're neat little guns. Marlin doesn't make them any more. I believe if I'm not mistaken they'll take Smith And Wesson Model 59 magazines. I spotted for several guys shooting these at the range over the years. I'd say they were more accurate than the average Ruger Mini 14. At 100 yards when watching the target from the right angle I could actually see the bullets impacting the targets. They're pretty well out of juice at that range, but I still wouldn't want to stand in front of one. Can I ask what you had to spend on it?

Gophergunner, Thanks for the info. I think I got a good deal at three bills.I saw them last night in doing price research on Gunbroker.com at twice that. They use either S&W model 59 or 69 magazines. Marlin made them from 1985 thru 1999.

Three hundred for a Camp Carbine is, IMO, a steal if it isn't somehow destroyed mechanically.

My next toy is going to be the Ruger SR1911 .45 ACP. My problem is I can't find one anywhere. You can get on a waiting list on some of the gun sites but it sounds like the average wait is 8 months. Does anyone know where I can get one sooner?

You could call Little Crow in Hutchinson. They had LCP's when no one else had them.
If you love someone set them free If they come back no one else liked them Set them free again

Picked up a huge eelpout last night on a rattle reel and Pam pulled up a nice sauger this morning.
It's slow though, very slow.

Stan in SC I ran across this forum while looking into a camp 45 in the local swap sheet. IIRC there is something about a plastic follower that gets brittle with age and may should be replaced before it breaks. PS I wish I just bought the one instead of researching first. It sold while I was looking it up

Dang it, I gotta move to Minnesota. All we got down here is a stupid groundhog. That celebration is so short you don't even need to miss work. What kind of party is that!

I confess I've never been to the poutfest but it's coming soon, withing the next 2 weekends I think? A few of our MN posters are probably going. It's too wild for this family type dude. I like sipping a cold beer and watching my bobbers with the family lol.

Dave, watch the Eelpout Festival video. It's educational. There is more than one definition for the word "bobber". 'Nough said!

I have been to the Eelpout Festival a couple times. It is a blast! You see all kinds of stuff there from people sitting in shorts dangling their feet in the water while they fish, to a guy stripping down to his one piece long underwear to Neil Diamond on top of the Eelcatraz bus. One of the big party tents had newbies (who had never been to the poutfest before) take a shot from a frozen pouts mouth. Some people were actually stupid enough to say they had never been there before. Yuck!

I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.
