I get to start to T&E these.....tomorrow!

[Linked Image]

I always make sure....I weighed 10 and all 10 were exactly 136grs. Very uniform.

[Linked Image]

139gr scenar on the left, new 136 on right. Slightly different ogive to my eye.

[Linked Image]

The Lapua "L" appears on the base of the new 136's.

I'll see how they shoot seated with the same base to ogive as my 130, 140 VLD's and 130gr JLK's.

Pat,

What's the advertised BC on these? Also, how have Scenars in general behaved on animals compared to the VLDs?

Thanks,

John

They don't have an advertised BC out yet.....I'll be able to find what it is, or close to it by shooting out to 1200 meters or so, and a few ranges in between building a range card. I should be able to come up with a G1 and a G7.

The 139's have a harder jacket than the Berger HVLD's. The dig deeper. Have to see if these 136's are different. The point appears to be a little more open.

Pat,

Any plans to 'point' these bullets with a Whidden? I agree with your assessment of the ogives... 136 looks to be just a bit more secant.

I can't imagine they'll do anything less than hammer! But, it sure seems like gravel stuffed down a .260 case would bughole out of that GAP... grin

My Zebra rig loves 85's and 90's, hates 100's, loves 120 and 123's and dotes on 139 and 140's.

Very interested in these. Planning to have a 6.5x47 reamer ground for these seating to max length in AICS mags. Dare I ask how you got your hands on them?

Cool deal. Hope to get a range report on those when you can. I bet they aren't shabby.

Looks slick.

Not only the ogive, but the BT looks a lil longer on the 136. Could just be the photo though.

He was in my gun room, admiring my rifles, and lamenting the fact that he didn't have any that would shoot as well as mine did. I felt so sorry for him, having to use that crappy glass and all, I broke down and gave him some of my extra bullets. wink

Seriously though, looking forward to the report!! Love to get my hands on some of those bullets, any bets on where the BC will come in?
