Has anyone tried Black Horn in the 50-70 Government? I plan to load it this weekend for my 1871 Remington Keen Rolling Block Rifle.

You can find data here http://www.blackhorn209.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/b209blackpowdercartridgedata.pdf
I'ld be damned cautious about loading it in an original rifle, the stuff runs at some pretty high pressure.

the most expensive bullet there is isn't worth a plug nickel if it don't go where its supposed to.

Not trying to hijack the thread but I am very interested in the powder and wondering what it may cost for a pound sized jug?

What you have done is not nearly as important as how you have done it!!!

The stuff is only 10 oz per can. You can save a bit of money buying it in 5 lb jugs, but it is everybit as expensive as shooting Swiss blackpowder per round.

My wife got a can of it in the draw at Medicine Rocks shoot, and I've been messing with it in her rifle. A can of it will load 100 rounds of 45-70's. So when you run the math mixed with the price, that's how I came to know it costs as much per pound as shooting Swiss.
