How do you ship factory ammo? I have a buddy that needs a couple boxes of 9mm and I'd like to ship it the right way. Yes, he is a good buddy! Thanks in advance for any help.

I ask a friend of mine that works for UPS. He claims all you have to do is mark the package with the letters ORMD. Hopfully Brick top will comment on this .he has a lot of good info on things like this.

Ditto. Just go to a UPS shipping hub and not a UPS store. They don't know the rules I've found out. Generally it's just mark all 4 sides and top/bottom of the box with ORD and declare it's ammo. However, the last time I shipped ammo the lady helping me told me the marking requirements were changing. I'm sure it's on UPS website.

You have a ORD sticker that is to displayed on the box. It has to be on there. Or the writing on the box has to be a certain size and then drawn in a box. The correct stickers may be downloaded off the internet. You also have to call before you go as not all stations will take ORD packages.
I have to drive about 60 miles one way for one that does. You may be a lot more lucky.
Just type in ammo shipping regulations and it will give you the low down.

ORM-D is still valid through the end of the year, though they are now calling it "Limited Quantity" rather than "ORM-D".

You can google the new label (it's a diamond shaped thing).
