Another newbie here. I picked up a Model 19/33 NRA last summer for $75.00 from a neighborhood estate sale. Something to do when I had some free time. Most of the questions Ive had so far have been answered on this forum at one point or another.

My quandary: Mine shows signs where about 2 inches were cut off the butt and then reattached. The grain matches up almost perfectly. Has the stock been shortened or has some one been experimenting with it? The rest of it except the magazine appears to be stock. If someone has an unaltered stock; if you hook a tape measure in the trigger guard, what is the length to the butt plate. Also, did this rifle come d&t for a scope from the factory and if so what will fit it?

Thank yall for the info; past, present and future.
