http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/feb/19/ny-bill-would-force-gun-owners-buy-least-1m-insura/Any person who has not purchased insurance in compliance with the law within 30 days of its passing would be in violation of the law. Such an occurrence shall result in the immediate revocation of such owners registration, license and any other privilege to own such firearm. The bill also states that if a gun is stolen, the legal owner of that gun is responsible for any damage incurred until a loss or theft is reported to the police department. Liability insurance for $1 million in coverage for gun owners is estimated to cost between $1,600 and $2,000 annually, the Examiner reports.

The Dems are on their game! They are not missing any methods to drive guns out of our homes. I can only hope there is a local push along with the help of the NRA to file an injunction against all the new NY gun laws. Most all of us are going to face this insidious party in our own respective states.
My home is the "sanctuary residence" for my firearms.

I don't understand how they can force you to buy insurance for guns. They're making gun ownership a privilege of the wealthy rather than a right belonging to everyone.

Anybody that thinks it's not always about the money with Politicians is just as dumb as any Democrat.

The problem for this law and others like it is that gun ownership is not a privilege it's a constitutional right. The Supreme Court as already ruled that any right also protects the means to exercise that right. Thus, all these schemes to make gun ownership unaffordable through taxes, fees, or other requirements are doomed to be found unconstitutional and likely to be prevented from taking effect by court injunction.

I don't understand how they can force you to buy insurance for guns. The same way they are going to force you buy health insurance...

The government can't force you to buy anything! Not insurance or anything else, that's unconstitutional! The SCOTUS would never let that stand.

I don't understand how they can force you to buy insurance for guns. If they can force you to "buy insurance" for your "health" they can force you to "buy insurance" for ANYTHING they want, and they will, until folks decide enough is enough, which we have. Then, they'll do it anyway, and they have, until they have a big enough reason not too, which we haven't given them - yet. I hope that can still be accomplished at the ballot box but don't really see how.
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!

Mike Dont see how they have much choice. They live in the state that elected the people that passed the laws. Legislators apparantly couldn't care less what the gunowners think.

Mike The founders of this country risked their lives, their families and their fortunes to provide us the second amendment. They literally risked everything. They drew a line. Where is our line? Do we really have the guts and the fortitude they had to draw one?

You beat me to it but my hat's off to you on that because you are 100% correct. Now we need to point out this very obvious point to the knuckleheads trying to railroad our rights.

Mike No, they bit off more than they can chew with Cuomo's nonsense. People aren't going to register anything and no one is getting rid of any magazines. [bleep] this latest clown, his bill and NYC!
