I usually load rifle on a single stage and pistol on a dillon square deal. I acquired an old dillon 450, though and I am thinking of using it. I'll still prime separately and weigh the charges, but I like the idea of leaving the dies set up. The only rifle I load for typically is 308, and usually only 40 - 60 at a time. Do think the dillon would be able to make as accurate ammo as my old Lyman orange crusher?

Leave it at that and call it good. The only reason I have a progressive is so that I dont have to prime and weigh seperately on pistol rounds. For 50 rifle rounds my rockchucker is just dandy, but for 100-500 pistol, thats when the progressive is best.

RCBS had a video of David Tubb showing the basics of reloading on a single stage press. Then he used a Dillon 550. When he checked the run out on the cases loaded on the Dillon they were as good as the ones from the single stage. My 223 and 22/250 shoot as well with rounds fron a single stage or the Dillon.Rick.
