If I run across a good deal and I'm not going to buy it, I'll post a heads up for my fellow outdoorsmen. Anyways, looks like a fella by the username Deer Archer over at huntingpa has something in the works. And I'm damn glad I helped. http://www.huntingpa.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1014314&page=54

So what happened when you called?
Did you tell the fella selling the place you wanted to look at it right away and you had money to put down?
How exactly did I screw up your deal?

Damn if its legit thats a great deal but seems almost to good to be true, hell the cabin itself is prob worth more then that let alone the land and mineral rights. Guess we'll see how it pans out for the brother on HPA. I know I'd be sure to get a through title search done on that one!

Nice cabin in a beautiful area! Buyer will be very glad he bought it.
Hit on a similar deal in Huntingdon County PA at Lake Raystown in 2004. Wife and I were looking for a getaway spot for our retirement years and found a cabin abutting 40,000 acres of Federal land surrounding the lake. Turned into a family gathering place as well as a hunting and fishing camp.

You would all be talking a different story if it was you looking for a camp or some property in a certain area and someonee(who has no vested interest) went and posted a good deal on 15 different web sights that would not normally be seen by those people, not cool in my opinion, maybe I was a little harsh----(dont normally go off like that-) I am sorry rrroe, but I was really mad and its still not cool. Somes guys on here were getting mad at others giving heads up on Gun Broker auctions (whats the diff??). I'm not meant to get good deals like that anyway. Sorry to all! You are a liberal in sheep's clothing.
Quit giving in inch by inch then looking back to lament the mile behind ya and wonder how to preserve those few feet left in front of ya. They'll never stop until they're stopped. That's a fact.

Sounds like a scam. No phone numbers, only email contact. What makes me leary is that they tell how cheap it is and make sure you email for quick responses. I may be wrong, but if they ask for any kind of deposit before you see it then its a scam.

I spend a bit of time driving through parts of PA near Binghamton, NY and was impressed with how economically devastated it was. No industry, almost no function farms or any other businesses. Victims of the progressive fascists.
I expect that there are thousands of nearly worthless farms and houses.

Natural gas changed all that.

I've never been to these places in PA where there were thousands or even hundreds of worthless farms and houses. I'd be interested in seeing where they are exactly.
Even before natural gas, rural land always did well either with agriculture or timber.

Nothing pisses me off more than when a friend gives me a heads up on a wonderful opportunity. How selfish can one be in not keeping a potential benefit for one of his circle of friends a secret?
Rex...I just received, thanks to another member, my 10 packs of 325 round 22LRs. I know you're into the 22 round so if you're running low, let me know. I'll send you a couple of packs.

birddog...I understand your frustration, man. I can't tell you how many times I've been a day late on real estate ventures.
It's part of the real estate game and you're hearing this from someone who's personally said GD more than Yee-Haw on real estate deals.
Your frustration was misdirected,though.

rrroe is correct, property prices in Pa are depressed, especially out in the boonies..
I was kidding of course on me buying it, however, it would not surprise me if it is legit.
Think of how much they are saving by not using a realestate agent.
