Anyone using them?

I have Scotty and Offshore releases.

Thinking about trying Blacks with the rubber band trick.

I used them exclusively when I had my boat and trolled lake Ontario for salmon. Excelent releases I highly recommend them

I ordered 8 Blacks last night.

They look a lot better than the fumble finger types I am using now.

Yea the inland lakes guys are ahead of us out in the Pacific NW concerning downrggers and releases. Scotty is the name up here, made a few miles from me in British Columbia. Just about every outdoor store sells Scotty, the dealer discount must pretty good.

Blacks releases don't exist here, I discovered them by accident a few weeks ago when looking at the Melton International site.

I use the Black's/rubber band system especially on my light line (12 lb) downrigger set ups in the Great Lakes. Very effective and gentle on the lines.

I really like the rubber band setup. With the Blacks release not only will I be able to adjust the release tension but also will be able to play with different strength bands.
