Going steel head fishing this coming friday for the first time. At a place called Eaqgle Creek here in Western Oregon.
Any steel head fisherman with any last minute advise?
I would appreciate it.

It's a kick in the pants.
Early in the morning and late in the afternoon I had good luck with the tradional swinging method on shooting heads. Strikes vary from a slow-heavy feeling to rip the rod out of your hands.
The rest of the time I use an indicator with a #4 gamakatsu egg pattern. Takes usually are a dunked indicator, but sometimes a high riding indicator is a fish too. If the indicator does anything unusual, let it rip.
