They're assembled in China, but "Filled and Finished in Santa Rosa, California." That means the last seam in each down channel is sewn shut after it's filled here in the US.

That's technically made in China.

I've become more relaxed about the whole China thing as it's impossible to overcome, but I still try to buy US made if possible.

Regardless, the 850+ fill Marmot bags are outstanding.

Valandre Mirage for me. 26-27 oz. and I've used it comfortably into the teens with an R1. WM is excellent too and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Agree with Brad and snowy Mountaineer -
I have used my Valandre Mirage extensively for about 5 years or so. For a lightweight bag, 26 oz., and a legit 20deg F temp, its hard to beat. Shoulder girth is large so you can layer if need be. I have actually tested mine outside in 12F with baselayers and balaclava and experienced no chills at all. Plus, it compacts down to the size of a cantaloupe.

I have the opportunity to test lots of brands, and I keep going back to this one for 3 season use when I'm not out goatpacking. (then I will be using my stephenson warmlite)

You certainly can't go wrong with FF or WM either, by the way...

Anyone have an opinion on the new dridown bags from Sierra Designs?
Seem like they have the best of both worlds between synthetic and down. Zissou 23 is 2lbs 1 oz

The hydrophobic down looks awesome. I think i'll wait until it's been around for a bit though.

They do dry fast if you get them wet.
