well my latest 260 build is at the smith getting put together and i have really wanted a 338 lapua for a long time. so i was curious have any of you built a 338 lapua on a remington 700 action if so what bolt faces work for it? how was the accuracy off of it? any info at all would help just trying to decide if im gonna start collecting parts to build this thanks matt allen

Accuracy is fine no different than any other action as long as it isn't screwed up for some reason. 06 bolt face is fine it has to be opened up so start with non mag so it can be fully cleaned up.

Rem 700 is not a good choice for the Lapua....do yourself a favor and build on a Defiance or surgeon 1581 XL!

I was advised 700 a NOGO by more than a few smiths. The 338 Edge will do what you want and the 338 RUM is within 100 fps from what I have seen given fast vs slow barrels and equal lengths. You can do the RUM or Edge on the 700.
