Ok guys, I have a birthday coming up and as some of you know, I really like these 99E's. If one of you has a decent 99E in either .303 or .250 that you could part with, I'd be interested. It doesn't have to be pristine, but it does need to be original....no tang cracks, not drilled, numbers need to match, correct sights. I have a .300 and a 30-30. They both are "right", but they both have a little carry wear, and they are my 2 favorites. So, if you have an E that you could part with, let me know through a PM. Thank you!
I'm still looking for a nice one in 22HP, so let me know if any of y'all have one of those.
And an early Happy Birthday to you, Brian! Hope you find a nice E!

Brian: That puts you 2 ahead of me. Since Brian already has a 300 and a 30-30, you can PM ME if you have one of those 2 cals.

Another member put me on an auction with this very gun last weekend. From the one crappy pic, it looked really nice. 13% buyers premium, 6% sales tax, $25 transfer fee, 2 hour drive both ways.
Decided not to make the trip and went to a gun show instead.

Saw another decent 22HP on a PA auction about 3 years back or so, had been d&t'd - would have been perfect for me. Wasn't able to follow up on it tho.

In HP, went to 22" barrel and ramp front sight in 27 or so. If you could find one made between 20 and 27 would have 20" barrel and integral front sight. Now that would be a home run.
I think they sent most of the E's down under. Seem to be a lot more common in your neck of the woods.

S/N 310*** = 1927 Barrel Address Style 8 = 1928 Front sight is the 1928 version
Bore is pretty well mint on the barrel as is blue, not as much blue on the receiver, probably due to sweaty hands. Forend is excellant, stock is the interesting thing.
It had a crack which I repaired, someone had put a wood screw into the wrist. Ive removed that and plugged it with matching wood as best I could. What has me confused is the raised edges on the side panels are almost flat. But the stock to my eye has not been refinished. All matching numbers.
I'll get some photos up, call it the " down under E " Feel free to pull it apart, but I think its a totally original rifle. We just don't have spare barrels etc to swap things around
Here is a 250 E. Not pristine but not too buggered.
Well, maybe.

Who would want to buy a rifle that lays on rocks? I sure wouldn't.

You saw the two that I have at the fest last year, so you know what I'm talking about. When you come across two, you know there will be one for you and one for me! I know that they are not very common here in the states. I do hear that they are a bit more common in our neighbor to the North.
I did see them and I do remember them. So far out here I've seen nothing that holds a candle to them. But then, its been my experience that most of the high condition 99s are back east. Sometimes it sucks to be me.
