I have a Remington AR R16 rifle The barrel is stamped 223
I have always bought 223 ammo and reloaded it using my 223 dies;
I picked up a bunch of 5.56 brass at the range the other day. can I use my 223 dies to resize the brass and load for my rifle?

Yes.

I've done it thousands of times.

Your only concern is that the primers may be crimped in with the 5.56 brass. If so, you'll need to either ream or swage the primer pocket before repriming.

Otherwise the brass loads the same.

I've fired 1000's of rounds of range pickup brass ran through a Redding fl sizer. I've fed 4 different AR's with that ammo, two with Wylde chambers, two M4 chrome lined barrels. 100% functionality through all guns.
