Picked up a Beretta 21a used about a month or two ago - seems accurate enough, chews through Rem Gold bullet up past Velocitors, mini-mags, etc. HOWEVER - the flip-up function seems to be a tad slower than most - it flips up, and will do it with enough force to push the round partway out of the barrel, but the round still slips back down in.

Should the 21A FULLY eject a round (fired or unfired)when you flip up the barrel?

Or are they made to flip up the barrel, then rotate the gun over to "drop" the round out?

Wouldn't a fired round be ejected? As noted above, an unfired round is drop out only.

I think then that it's model-to-model on these - some are just loose enough on the front to get enough velocity to "spit" out a round when it flips, others are tighter (like mine).

Thank you all!

Much later- got to the 21a with a pair of feeler gauges and calipers - the nose and frame all stay constant, but it would seem that the right side of the frame pushes on/is straight tight against the barrel, while the left side has up to a .003" gap. Also, it would seem that my slide itself doesn't ride even with the frame - in ready-to-fire position, the front of the slide actually angles up a millimeter or so to rub on the barrel - slight pressure pushes against the springs and pushes it down even with the frame, but allows a gap under the barrel.

Should this go in to Beretta or are these all slightly screwy little guns? This one shows a 1992 manufacture when I ran the S/N through Beretta's website...

Getting the gun used, you have no idea how many times its been open and closed.
