To give some back ground... i've deerhunted in South alabama all my life... killed my first buck at 8 yeasr old with a stevens 20 ga.ss...i own a very nice collection of long guns .. from custom rifle to fancy O/U shotguns...ULA's, NULA's, Dakota's, Remingtons, Sako's, Weatherby's, among many others... from 17 cal. to 50 bmg.... i turn 50 in september and my lovely wife said she want to buy me whatever gun of my choice.. just need an off the wall idea... the gun should cost somewhere between $4-5000.... the most important part... lefthanded......i don't reload.... so ammo will be an issue.. it doesn't have to be a build... it could be something someone here has stuck in the back of a safe.....? thank archie solomon

Archie, How about a left-hand Model 70 .470 Capstick? George
Shoot straight, shoot often, but by all means, use enough gun!

Cooper eye candy With the left over you could buy a few bullets. BTW - sounds like you have a heck of a wife there!
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I think if I already had the list of stuff you do, I would spend my $4-$5K setting up and stocking the ultimate reloading room and have a lot of fun! It would be pretty tempting to get a Cooper, however . . .

Do any of your shotguns have cast on appropriate for a lefty? A nice stick of wood and a custom stock could use up a chunk of change.
Get one of the LH Zastava actions and have it built into a classic sporter.
Take this money, sell a couple of others, and go to Africa.

Then it is definitely time for some travel. Start with the A destinations--Africa, Alaska, Argentina, and work your way through the alphabet. Let us know what you think of Zimbabwe.

The important question is, what are you getting your wife?

Ever considered a classic? Sharps? Colt Revolvers?
Why? Because you need nothing else and have no classics.

Since you are a hunter, pick your favorite animal/hunting style and design the ultimate rifle/shotgun for that hunting. A great reminder of a special moment and a special woman every time you uncase it. JMHO
