I need need a set of 7/8" rings that fit standard weaver bases(not the .22 tip offs), the old kind that hook on one side/ two screws on the other.

Id prefer a set from the bottom of the bin smile the rifle is grey and the scope is missing some finish, a new set would just look out of place.

Don't have any to sell but perhaps this may help.

You might be able to shim a set 1" rings to fit with 2 wraps of plastic shotgun hull (.027") Two wraps around .875" ends up at .983". However, the hooked top strap Weaver rings will clamp down below 1". I used Winchester AA (grey)to shim a 7/8" scope and not only did it not look like crap, but it held zero on a .30-30 for a couple of years until I switched out the 7/8" scope.

I also used a dab of ShoeGoo on the scope, between the shims and the saddle of the rings which may have helped hold it all together.

If you're gonna go that route you may as well buy reducers.

My guess is you're searching for the real deal.

Grogel Deluxe,

What sort of scope are you planning to use? Most of my 7/8" rings are newish, but I do have a set of old Redfield rings that would look perfect, but the scope needs to have a straight objective (no bell) and you have to be able to unscrew the eyepiece bell to get the rings on the scope tube.

Thanks for the suggestions and offers all. Ive got this 1899F that is drilled and tapped for weaver two piece bases, it currently has a weaver 1X on it, but, I just picked up a Leopold 2 1/4 power plainsman here in the classifieds, the one with the rings in the middle to adjust the scope, no knobs. I thought the plainsman would look good on this old src.

John, are your redfield rings turn in or will they clamp on to the weaver bases? I havnt looked at the spacing on the rifle to see if a one piece base would match the holes. If yours fit weaver bases I could use them on this scope.

There is a seller on ebay with just what Im looking for, but they are new in the box, I could throw em in the tumbler and distress them a bit, but shimming would work too and I hadn't thought of that.
