Serial shows rifle made in 1963/64. 308 caliber. Grades about 80%. Some stock dings and one spot of worn blueing. No rust. Scope is made in West Germany. I don't know much about them. Bore is in good shape.

600 to 650 on the rifle without seeing pics. Sako mounts? They can fetch up to 100 for mediums, but I like to consider them a bonus. Dunno about the scope. Objective size? Age?

Need pics.

I'm thinking at 80% the rifle might fall more into the $500 range, so I'll guesstimate $900 or so for the whole package.

There is a group of people willing to overpay for that scope.

Yep, take it off and you can probably get $450 if in nice condition.

Standard sporter, Bofors stamped barrel. I stay with my original assessment of 600-650 without having the rifle in hand, and not knowing what the bore looks like. Those are not Sako mounts, so no value (for me) there.

I have that scope and have seen them advertised between $500-$750. Not sure what they actually sell for. It is very comparable to a new Conquest in quality and size. I think they were made in the 80's and 90's, so it is probably an older scope if I'm right. Being made in Germany adds some value, at least to some people. Can't help with the rifle, but if I were selling I'd sell separately.

That's a sweet setup right there. If the stock, bluing and barrel are in good shape (can't tell from the pics), that rig would sell for anywhere from $1000 - $1500 on GB. The L579 308's seem to bring a premium price and that is an excellent, desirable scope.

+1. Keep it for the nicest deer/Elk rifle you will ever own. Rifle in the 600 dollar range, Scope in the 800 dollar range. You can see in the dark with those old Zeiss scopes. Older Sako's are tack drivers. Regards, Rick.

John Deere tractors and Sako rifles.....doesn't get any better.
