Been a little slow down here in the kitchen as of late so I guess it's time to ask a new question. Eversince my wife got her new ceramic/glasstop range my cast iron cookware has been banned from the kitchen. i am now in the mood to build an out door kitchen, complete with roof to keep the rain off. i have aquired a stainless double sink with stainless side boards, now I need ideas. I am incorporating a smoke house and turkey cooking pot including a crane to lower bird into oil. What would make a good oven? I am toying with making a brick oven but need to find out how.

Bullwnkl.

Winky I have not made a brick oven so can not help you on design. I can give you a tip on puting one together as I have made a few brick bar-be-q pits. I don't like them particularly but have made them. Anyway when you build made certain sure you use fire brick and the older the better, common brick will break all to pieces under heat. Also go down to your fire place store and get Kiln cement to put it together with. This is a mortar that is made to withstand high heat without coming apart.

BCR
