Recently got the new 3-18x50 scope. First look gave me the wow impression! I haven't had much experience with other high end rifle scopes, but am definitely pleased with this one so far. Need to go out and shoot with it this weekend and see how it does.

My only dislike is the dimmensions for mounting. The objective side of the adjustments seems short and the ocular end seems long. Anyone else think that or is it just me? Certainly not a deal breaker. Just looked kind of funky when I first mounted with where it sat above the action.

Congrats. I have not had a chance to see one yet but by all accounts it is a great scope. What did you mount it on - and what rings did you pick?

I've got a Borden 300 wsm. Sits on some Talley's. I did flip the front ring so I could center it better above the action. It seems to still fit well as far as eye relief goes.

I also like the side push button for illumination compared to the normal piece by the ocular zoom.

If all goes well with drawing the tag it's going elk hunting this fall.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of that scope after you wring it out a little. Love to see a pic when you get time too. Thanks, and good luck.

Gledeasy,

Congrats for sure. I would sure like to see one. How does it compare to your other scopes for resolution and in low light?

Are there two versions of the 3-18X VX6? I've looked on EBAY and some are listed as 3-18 x 44 and others are listed as 3-18 x 50. Is the difference because some folks are using the outside diameter of the objective and others are using the diameter of the objective lens only?

Like I said I haven't really had any high end scopes. Have had a couple of VX-3's and Vortex PST's. Anyway resolution is very crisp to me along the whole FOV. When I first got it out of the box I cranked it to 18 and looked up at the hills from my porch. Was pleasantly surprised. I just got it Monday so I have more need of playing with it.

I believe there are 2 versions. Both a 44 and 50 mm objective with the 3-18.

Two versions and that tight front ring fit has me second guessing them. Might run a 2-12 instead. Liking the look of the Nightforce 30mm low ultralight base/ring setup. Almost went Zeiss but having a hard time breaking my gold ring habit.

This picture isn't great but this is what I'd like to set sight on this fall. This is just some wallpaper on 8x at ~6 yards.

Looks like you're gonna need to send it back....they forgot to put a crosshair in it!

Oh crap!...lol didn't think about that.

It's there, I've never been able to master the picture taking thing. Gonna have to start using a tripod or something for a shot like that.

I just put the 44mm VX-6 3-18 on my .300 Win Magnum. I love it. I did turn the front base around to fit the ring properly, and it works well.

No bigger than the size of where the cross hairs meet.

I actually bought this one used and was told it was the illuminated duplex, but I do like the firedot.

Very nice looking rifle you have! Thanks for the pictures. I havnt seen many pics of this scope yet. Any chance of a picture of the turrets with the caps off? Does the turrets have marks on the side or just on top? Thankyou very much.

I'll work on some pics of that but it just has the marks on the top.
