Anyone loading this combination, what are your findings. I was thinking of loading the 130 grain for deer and elk over fields

I shoot the 168gr TTSX out of my 30-06, and the 130gr out of my 270, since 1992.
A 130gr Barnes at 3,200fps out of your '06 should work great on deer and elk.

I ran Varget under the 130TTSX and was getting 3,100fps out of a 22" tube with great accuracy and there was room for more.
Wanted: Vintage Remington or Winchester hats, patches, shirts. PM me if you have something.

Varget at 53.5 grains under a 130 grain TTSX works like magic Plus or minus about half a grain will work with almost all rifles for the best accuracy. Velocity runs about 3150.

57/IMR4320/3047 fps out of a Howa.
I was hoarding when hoarding wasn't cool.

RL15... IIRC 56.5 gr, RP cases & RP LR primers did very nicely accuracy-wise in my rifle though I haven't chrono'd it.

IIRC, 64.0 H414/ Fed 210 was my load with the 130's. Two grains under the listed maximum charge. It killed everything I shot, but I switched to 150's for no good reason. Outstanding accuracy and I never chrono'd it. My '06 loves H414 with eery bullet I have used.

I did some load workups with moly'd 130 TTSX a while back with RL15, and RL17.
Start low, work up with care.

To me, even your starting loads look hotter than schit, does the moly really reduce pressures that much? Btw, I don't mean this in a pricky way at all, just curious because your loads exceed published data by quite a large margin, IMO.

My RL15 results correlate real close to Barnes' data using W748, which burns about the same speed as RL15. I haven't seen any published data for RL17. 130grTTSX in the 30-06. I used Quickload, and Alliant RL17 data for the 300 SAUM, to guide me, and laddered up.

MM, did you find RL17 to be as accurate as RL15? I would have thought a slightly quicker-burning powder would be more "optimal" in this application.
FWIW, the quickload table in the link I posted is from MM, and I found the top end loads with both Varget and Big Game to be pretty much spot on for charge weight and velocity.

I got a little better accuracy from the RL15. On average, about 1.0 moa vs 1.5 moa.
RL15 would seem like a good choice. It shot well, and puts enough speed on the bullet for any practical use.

RL-17 is really close in speed to IMR-4350, (Alliant techs recommend using I-4350 data when there isn't RL-17 data available), so I'd start with that data and CAREFULLY work up:
.30-06 Springfield (Barnes Reloading Manual #3) Reloading Data

...Do you see why I'm a bit concerned?
Published 30-06 data is good and all, and it will keep a Garand running well. The 30-06 has more potential (useable volume) than that. With bullets seated, the 30-06 is only behind the 300 SAUM by less than 4% useable volume. That roughly translates into 1% less velocity potential at equal pressures. Add a strong bolt action to the equation, and all is well. Look at Barnes online data for the 30-06 and 130gr TTSX. I'm done explaining this. If you don't get it, I can't help you.
