I was cleaning the various brass I had saved which is from Remington and Silver State Armory and saw something very strange.....the Remington brass takes large rifle primers and the silver state brass takes small rifle primers.....since I am still somewhat a newbie on reloading, does this mean I should be running different powders in these? And which powders are yall running in your 6.8???
Thanks

Boo, Don't worry about using different powders. Just make sure you're using the right size primers. But that would be pretty self evident. What powder you use depends on what bullet weights you're using. Apparently the under 100gr bullets work well with Re7 and those in the 110-120gr like 10x, 2200, and some others in that range. If you really want to get in touch with fellow 6.8ers you need to visit 68 Forums here http://68forums.com/forums/forum.phpYou will find out everything you want to know about the 6.8 and there are really good guys on there too. My reloading has got me to 28.6 grains of 10x under the Hornady 110 HPBT. I'm going to make up my next batch soon with a couple more tenths of a grain and see if that gets me over the 2600 fps that I'm looking for. I love the 6.8 and won't ever look back....

I will check them out, I already have the brass ready to load an it is separated by primer size, so that should not be a worry....I have just never seen that before!

I'm using 28.5 gr of H322 behind 110gr Nosler Accubond, Remington case with Remington 9 1/2 large rifle primers (fantastic load for killing wild hawgs!).
With regard to small rifle primers (i.e SSA brass), some folks with AR platforms experience slam fires with some small rifle primers that have softer cups. As such they use small rifle magnum primers. If you choose to do this please be careful with your handloads. Start at the bottom of the load tables and work your way up, constantly checking for over pressure signs.
