So where can one buy the newest model Winchesters? I'm looking for a supergrade with the new MOA trigger, but no retailers in Mississippi stock them. The regional rep says there's none in the southeast region. Anyone seen one?

I saw one at Sportsman's Warehouse in Puyallup, WA. Didn't check the chambering but it had a really, really nice stock on it. I think it was $1,100.

New MOA trigger? Have they changed it from the MOA trigger that has been out the last few years, or is this something new for 2013?

New, relatively speaking. I'm not sure when they started offering the MOA trigger...my newest Winchester is circa 1980s. I was just checking out the Winchester website, so it's new to me. According to the regional Winchester rep that my local shop deals with, there are none in the region. Very few shops in MS or AL carry Winchester rifles, and when they do, they're the common model 70. I was hoping to find a super grade 30-06.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I've also been looking at new Model 70's, and just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something.

did you check Bud's? that's where I got my two FW's. Also, check Van's in brandon. I know they carry the winchesters, and if there's a place in MS that can get you the Supergrade, it's probably them. nobody in the state carries more inventory.

FWIW, these FN model 70's are really growing on me. For a factory-made rifle, I'm just not seeing anything better in the price range. The FW that I just got in 7x57 has a nice stick of light, straight-grained walnut on it, very good fit & finish, and the trigger is a crisp 3 1/2 lbs right out of the box. it is sexy!

Winchester began to use the MOA Trigger when production moved to FN Plant(SC) in 2008. They still use the MOA Trigger but production for 2013 models has moved to Portugal. There is a guy selling an FN M70 Sporter 30/06 in classifieds for $650 shipped. I'd grab it if I didn't already buy one a couple months ago. From the serial it looks to be 2010 production. The wood on the std grade is almost as good as the super grades that I have seen. Polished blue on super grades vs matte blue on stds. My FN Sporter in 30/06 shoots very well

Regards,

SD

I have an '09 production Super Grade that has incredible wood. I wonder if the wood grade waned off since then. I don't see too many supers around to compare. I grabbed a sporter stock from CDNN for the WSM a while ago that is very plain. Here is a snap of the "good side".
