I hope there's enough viewership in this sub-forum for this question to be noticed by the right folks.

I continue to think hard about using a PT. However, I have only an older MacBook and an even older linux laptop. I'll not be partitioning the HD, using Boot Camp, and purchasing a Windows license for the MacBook.

I am informed by the developer that people use PTII in vmware. I was very much hoping to avoid both the cost and the potential comm issues of an emulator, and use an API replacement instead (wine; specifically, CodeWeavers' CrossOver product).

Has anyone done this? If not, does anyone use a PT in vmware? How well does it work? What are the drawbacks? Thanks.

Just buy an old comp off eBay or Craigslist for $50. You can find ancient laptops at second-hand stores with Windows on them. Then you are good to go.

If you are playing with strange wildcats or weirdo powder bullet case combinations, pressure trace is good stuff. I have not used mine as often as I should. I am doing a reloading /shooting room remodel and am going to change that.

Thanks for the replies. I realize I could buy more stuff that has no purpose other than to allow me to buy & use more stuff, but a PT isn't _that_ interesting to me. Anti-clutter is the name of the game at this time...

If you man-up and buy a PT, and want to try wine; I'm sitting on 3 or 4 open source laptops. Buy one and I'll send you one grin
