I've been running 73.5 grains of 7828 behind a 130g TTSX, Fed. 215 in weatherby brass. Getting 3420fps across my 35p and it's been slightly under 1/2" @ 100yds when I do my part. I know you have shot the caliber before so you know it's like a laser....Van

Maybe AussieGunWriter will check in on this. He has a pretty fair list of data he has used. Most of it comes in around factory load velocity. The load I used most in my Wby was way over powdered by current standards and I've tuned it back. I was getting 3225 with a 150 Hornady and a 24" barrel and they shot great. It was a load in print I came up with somewhere but have not located it since so I backed off. But Aussie has some loads right in that neighborhood.

I used a lot of RL22 in the past. I think I might try 7828 again. Been a while!

I've loaded for several .270 Weatherbys. To a certain extent all rifles are individuals, but I've found IMR7828, Reloder 25 and Ramshot Magnum tend to group better with a variety of loads. Without looking at my loading notes, I'd huess that Magnum with 130's probably was the most consistent combo overall.

Wow, the title threw me. I thought this was going to be about a wildcat of the 218 Bee necked up to 270. That would be a spiffy TC Contender handgun cartridge! But never mind!

That's the powder and charge I used with a Hornady 150gr Interlock. I was getting 3225 with a 24" barrel. Load data I worked off of showed 72.3 grains max and being younger I rounded up. Would shoot inside and inch in my Euromark at 100yds and I actually shot a 5/8" group on a 200 yard target. Doubt I could reproduce that result. And still don't know where I saw that recipe.

71.5g R22 under 150 Hdy SPILFB in Norma brass lit by 215GMs gave me 3265fps in a 26" Mk5. It replicated the MV of the Wby factory 150 Hdy SP load and produced submoa groups. Pure death on large body whitetails.
I also ran 73g IMR7828 for a touch more MV with the same pills, but the 22 loads were a touch more accurate in said rig.
