I have a 1:12 twist, 20 inch barrel Mod 70 in 308 and would appreciate any load info you may have. 110, 117, or 120 bullet weights would be my first choices. 200 yards would be the high range of distance in the terrain I would be hunting. Thanks CM

125gr Nosler Ballistic Tip
Win. brass
Fed 210M or WLR primer
Between 50 - 51.5grs Win 748 powder

or

Same components as above with between 48 - 50grs of Ramshot Tac powder.

Those loads have shot well in numerous 308s depending on what powder charge your gun/barrel likes.
At the upper charge limits both powders will usually clock between 3100 - 3200fps out of a good 26" bbl.
I've shot alot of ground squirrels, jack rabbits and coyotes with those loads, and the 125gr Ballistic Tip will also work on deer or antelope,etc.

Do a little digging and you'll also find reduced loads for the .308, including IMR 4198 loads. Speer manuals list reduced loads, but their max. load doesn't reach the pressure limit, it's just sort of random. I've loaded up to 34gr. w/ a 130gr. SP successfully, gotten good accuracy, and it's much easier on the shoulder, too. Seafire may also have some loads of Blue Dot that would work well. Just a thought...
