I'm thinking of buying some of these as component bullets to try out in my .270 Winchester. For those that have used them how well do you like them?

killed a bunch of deer with them over the years. Accuracy was fine with them, too. Matter of fact I prefer them to the Remmy CL's. Truth be told though, I have now switched to Nosler Accubonds and am extremely happy with the results of those, although I did kill one deer with a PP this year as I didn't have anything on hand for my 270 but PP's and CL's. DRT. Killed a couple out of my 6.8 (.277) with 110 AB's at 2750 fps and just laid them right out.

I'm glad someone posted an answer about the .277 bullets. I've had excellent luck with accuracy out of my .308's with the win powerpoints. Here's a recent group shot with my pre 64 fwt 30-06: Because of this, I'll probably end up getting some .277 130's for my 270 win one of these days...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I'm getting amazing accuracy from the 30-06/180 PP's in silver box Winchester factories so PP's can be very accurate.
In the 270/130 on game, you'll be increasing velocities to the extreme end of "hold together" for cup and core bullets, which is not a problem in the 180/'06. On the other hand, 270/130 cup and core bullets have killed tons of game--its a classic deer combination.
Why don't you grab a box of .270 WW Super X 130 loaded factories ($18.99 locally)and try'em. You can test the bullets and end up with some nice fire-formed brass without risking much scratch. If you like em, buy the bullets and you're off and running.

I have used them in the factory 270 Win ammo and they were deadly on pigs. MV was chronoed about 3030fps. No shots were over 150y and I usually got exits except on big boars.
Not superbly accurate but still around 1.5 inches for 3 shots at 100y. Bear in mind these were factory loadings not tuned to the rifle.

Some of the most accurate factory ammo that I ever fired in any rifle was Winchester's 150-grain Power Point .270 load.
Keep your gun-hand ready and your eyes peeled.
