I bought a Remington 552 Deluxe speedmaster ,good wood ,no cracks, all blue on barrel but a lot of blue wear where you would carry the rifle in your hand, good bore. Made in 1981. Was $300.00 total a bad deal ,good deal or so so? Not looking to sell just curious about the price. Thanks Craig
Hey Craig, your model # in your title thru me off but I see you corrected it in your ad (522 vs. 552). Anyway I just sold my mint 552 speedmaster locally here in Pa. for $325.00. It was a safe queen with absolutely no wear, cracks or dings. I'm pretty sure that was strong money for this model. I haven't seen your rifle but I have seen them at gun shows in various conditions. Not that it mattered to me from a performance stand point, but I noticed that a lot of these 552's used were missing the deflection shield on the ejection port and many were missing the sights (late model were set up like a model 700/early models were welded on and notched in up front) or ejection handle (round knob). At the gun show, I saw them anywhere from $200.00 poor condition and up to $395.00 in pretty much 95% condition. It sounds like you did alright. Kimbo
My brother paid $200 for this rifle at the Puyallup gun show 3-26-2011.
I have turned the gamma up on the pic to see the bluing [the stocks look darker than this].
It was made in 1967, it does not have a scratch on it.
I competed at every gun show for years with him to see who could get better deals. He is stiff competition.

That the first gun I ever used to take small game. I ended the day with 3 cotton-tails, 4 Jack-rabbits and a whole day full of great memories. I can still smell the gun powder in that cold winter air.....thanks for a blast from the past!!
