I just got my first Cooper; a Varminter in .223 Rem. It is wearing a Leupold VX3 6.5-20x I think the objective is 50mm. I have a Jackson Hunter 280AI on order and am shopping for a scope and rings for that. Currently looking at Zeiss 2-10x 42mm and 3-15x 42mm. Would also like to consider scopes with a larger objective but I'd prefer low rings so the scope is close to the body. Interested to see what you guys have mounted on your Coopers. Here's the Varminter:

Warne Weaver style bases and Burris Signature Zee rings on all of my Coopers. The Warne bases are available direct from Cooper.

I was under the impression that Coopers come with bases installed and at one time they were Leupold. Anyone know if they are still coming with Leupold bases installed?

elkhunternm, that is a mighty fine looking Cooper you have there. What calibre if you don't mind me asking?
For elk hunting in the open west, do you find a scope out to 10x magnification enough or do you wish for more? What distance do you hunt out to with this setup?

In the past they typically came with either Leupold or Talley bases. Best GWB

While I'm normally not a fan of synthetic stocks, I have to admit that the Cooper synthetic stocks are among the nicest I've seen! Both the green and the red and black one. That is one sweet looking rifle!

My M21 and M22 serve as prairie dog rifles, so they're topped with Leupold 8.5-25 scopes and Leupold bases/rings.

My .22 LR Jackson Squirrel rifle has a Leupold 3-9x33 EFR Rimfire scope in the Leupold rings that came on the rifle.
I have two Model 52 Excaliburs, one a 30-06 and one a 25-06, that each have a S&B Summit in Talley Lightweights.

Contacted my dealer and Cooper gives me an option to get Talley, Warne (Weaver style) or no bases. I've picked Warne and my dealer is going to set me up with some rings and hopefully a scope as well! I'm leaning towards the Zeiss HD5 3-15x 42mm with the Rapid Z-600 right now
