Grey oil sounds like it may have an oil cooler/radiater issue. As to the Honda, my car, GM is [bleep], etc. They ALL fail if you get a bad one. They ALL fail if you don't change the fluids or filters. Yeah, some cars just run for ever with no maintenance. Some people live until they are 96 while smoking, drinking, and eating bacon every morning, your Dr. will not recomend it though.

sometimes flushing it will make it worse if the fluid hasnt had service on at least a somewhat regular basis

I haven't got the bill yet, but I found out what the problem was. A bearing failed & the shavings knocked out the planetary gears. By-by transmission. An oil change wouldn't have fixed this one.

gene The flush doesn't help, changing the fluid every 30k does. Flush is just another form of solvent.

the bg flush uses a machine to flush the transmission system and push the old fluid out with new fluid to replace all of the fluid not just the few quarts that are in the pan and filter

If transmission has more that 80 K to 90 K with no changes I would drop pan and change filter rather than a flush. Lots of trannies fail after a high mileage flush.

When you said "flush with BG products" I assume some solvent flush added before the change. Yeah, lots of machines out there flush the whole thing, still need to drop the pan and change the filter in there too, before the flush process.
