dgunnut, Lyman Reloaders hand book, 43rd Edition has a load useing IMR4227, with 175 gr. cast. 14 gr. for plain base, 14.5 gr. for gas checked. Burn rate is almost idetical to H4227, Ya should be able to use that data to develop loads with your 170 gr. bullets

so, does the 323 diameter bullet work? isn't that what the 8mm is?

According to the "Ideal Hand Book", 22nd edition, Min. bore dia. is .320, max. is .3205. Smart moved would be to swage the bore.
