Just read the thread about wolf reduction in around the Yukon-Charlie Preserve. Why does trapping/hunting account for so little take? Are they that hard to catch or or they just not being targeted by trappers?

A buddy of mine doesn't trap in that area, but not too far from it, and he's pulled 20 out this year. I actually need to get up to FAI and pick up a black wolf he gave me.

The NPS is also not exactly friendly to trappers in the area. NPS call it slaughter while hunters/trappers call it Harvesting.
It is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.
