The pistol grip cap has seen better days and the screw to hold it on looks like someone took a butter knife to it.
Any chance there are a few out there for sale?

I passed on a few of them at the Syracuse Gun Show last weekend. I might have the sellers' cards at home.

You're better off buying a new reproduction and fitting it to your stock. In the used market the size varies a lot and the prices are stupid high.

OUCH! I just went to order a screw and it was $10.00 shipped.
So I reprofiled the one I have, polished it and cold blue it. It's installed now but thanks for the link. smile

Small parts are spendy when you only order one. The Vintage Grip grip cap from Lightfoot's link is a good way to go. As he stated, the caps were fitted to the wood so a used one may well not work out. Since its a restored rifle get a repro and fit it to the stock.
