Winter boredom has driven me to build a Kentuck' flint-fired-muzzle-stuffer. See everyone is still live and kickin' so will check in again at a later date...Cheers!
PS; Crossfireoops, be nice to the ILLEGALS or they will confiscate your property complements of the Mexicano Government

Flinters rock....! ( pun intended)
Yup, seems that Vicente Fox is on some sorta roll, Joe.
Military, or Cartelistas masquerading as military?
Regardless, it's still armed incursion.

Hmm! Maybe we need a couple of Battalions of "1000 yd. Sharps Shooters" down there to hold back the armed invaders! Idajo, I built one myself from some old parts that I had left over from building them many years ago during my college days- nice .40 Douglas barrel & pretty nice curly maple- shoots nice! But I use a Dixie (made in Japan) Tenn, Mtn. Rifle ( found it cheap in an estate sale- barely shot) in .50 Flint for ML matches. I think that shooting flint offhand is great training for follow through with BPCR's! ..Dennis

Crossfire/Pathfinder: I have not given up on BPCR, just wanted to build something that I have not done before. Always found the long-slender 'swamped barreled' nose-heavy long rifles held rock steady on offhand. I realize that this does not really belong here, but it sure don't belong on the muzzleloader frame with the TC's and Knights, either! This is not my rifle, but I am going to build something from the same North Carolina "school". PS: [re: the Southern border] I was always taught that in a shoot-out you were the only one to leave, that way the story was undisputed! (surprised that there is not a big demand for tractors with backhoes down there... Crossfire, maybe you should buy one and rent it out )

Dang nice rifle. I am partial to those Carolina style rifles too. I built a .54 flinter that way.

I'm about to build me a .36 Flinter...sort of a generic blend of the Penn/Kentucky/whatever...from Tracks. Will use a small Siler on it, mebbe change a few minor details along the way. Ought to be fun...I hope...
I have a lot of Non-PC thoughts about the Southern Border. Probably I don't have to go on a roll with them...thinking most of you already know...

While back I had a job and no gun projects. Now I have no job and 7 gun projects. Unemployment is a good thing.
1 Flinter 3 recoil pads 1 Stock reshape and finish 1 .22 short shooter bolt, very light, very odd. I lust for a Sharps so much it must be a project too.
Just finished bedding the buttstock on a Contender...been needing that for some time.
Other things I do include going off on a tangent on an off subject topic at every opportunity. Been doing some red cedar sculpture of sorts(crap makes me sneeze alot, even with a respirator), and working on an old boat which I like but girls and ladies don't because it's too small.
So anyway, Idahjo your topic is fine with me. If you know anything about my background at AR you know I have no problem hijacking an entire forum...forever. Good luck with your flinter!

That would be the one most porous at the moment. Not to be confused with the US/Canadian Border.
