Dennis,
I posted info on the Shiloh board. The owner of Longstreet Casino happened to mention maybe a Fall shoot could happen thia year. Yes, there will be another shoot next year. The owner wishes this to be an annual event.

Kelley, Thanks, I found it- sounded like a good time! IIRC isn't the range site arround the Calif.- NV border? I've shot several times with Frank & Katie, & they both know what they are doing- didn't Frank win the AZ regional Creedmoor 3 yrs. ago? So the .44-77 shoots?.......Dennis

Dennis,
I shot my 45-90..Just finished my 44-70 and will test loads this weekend with it at our regional. I don't own a 44-77.
The Longstreet range was just built. We shoot from the Nevada side and back South into California, we were border jumping . I did figure out I need work, a bunch of work, on my sitting position. It down right sucks and cost me 6-7 shoots from having wobble osses.

KO, Yeah, sitiing is tough, but that is what makes the Quigley & similar buffalo matches interesting! I had such a problem getting into position with my sitff back (broke & fused in a couple of places) that I shot it all offhand a couple of years ago. I finally found a pretty good position using my legs spread toward the target, locking my elbows into my knees- takes some fooling around to see what works with your particular body. Good luck on the .44-70. I just picked up a modified Pedersoli Quigley .45-90 from Bob Hooper- don't know what to do with all that powder capacity ......Dennis

Instead of sitting on the ground make a wood base that raises you 6 or 8 inches off the ground and try that maybe more. I have found to low is uncomfortable and too high makes you hunch over not good also but there is a point in between you might like as I have been experimenting with this and have found some of my old cripled up shooting buddies like me like sitting up a bit. Were working around 6 to 8 now and shooting off sticks.

Guys, Earl Clark has got the "disabled shooter" card, from the NRA.............shoots off of a 4" lift, .............stool, whatever.
His clinic on shooting from the sitting , off of sticks........?
Get it while you can, he's a GREAT coach. He made his points with crystal sharp clarity...............and was patient , kind, and very articulate.................I've got a tape,m of his treatise, somewheres.......... Me I'm a prone shooter, and my disability disqualifies me from anything resembling a sitting position.
The idea about a " lift" is absolutely well taken.....and should not require a "Disability Card"........or disqualify the holder thereof from setting Nat records. THAT, is a particular sore point, with me......................not too "LEGACY" oriented, I daresay.
Snivel, whine, complain.
Not likely,
