We were at the Shepp Ranch on the Salmon River. 26 miles by road east of Riggins and the 18 miles by jet boat. Tough country would be an understatement in my opinion but I'am an old guy. Brutal was my thought and I still hurt to go along with that thought.

I had a dang suicidal deer running wide open smoke the side my truck last night at 7:10 in broad daylight. Dang thing blended in with the grass and the cut cornfield it was running out of so well, I didn't even see it until a split second before impact. Pretty bad damage to the front fender and drivers door resulted in a dead deer and police report and soon to be insurance claim . Just what I needed...

I've heard of the place TJAY and have seen some photos of the area. Rugged country is a bit of an understatement. I think Idaho has some of the steepest terrain in the country.
What were you doing back in there?
I've been in Hells Canyon (Aptly named) and in the mountains North of McCall.

Griz I was doing a black bear hunt. There were 4 hunters in camp and everyone saw bears and had good shots. I missed a real nice one and ended up with a small one. One of the guys shot a wolf but I got the only bear. The starting point.

Time to dump that chebby and come over to the right side Big Jelly! Sorry to hear it though. A PITA to deal with any damn way.

Could have used more of this transportation, only one day. This was at the end of the trail, well most of it was a trail. This was the final canyon we came but its was without a trail.

This was the first days hike from the river. There was no trail, very steep and a lot of side hilling. Looking the other direction.

Not sure where Bagley is located. Riggins is south of Orofino an north of McCall. I was in the Frank Church River Of No Return and Gospel Hump Wilderness areas. The country is just beautiful and the folks at the Shepp Ranch were great.

Seeing quite a few road kills around here too, Rooster. Too bad about the truck but at least you're ok and trucks can be repaired.
