We love you dusty, but you knew that. I'm glad I got to meet you, even though we only knew each other for 4-5 years, you're family. A kinder soul will not be found down here, and we won't be the same without you Uncle Dusty.
Camp is where you make it.

To all the Chickenbuckers with heavy hearts today, a simple wish that you hang on to your best memories of Dusty. I never knew him, just heard of him here at the fire. Prayers to all the friends and family as we lose another one of "us" here at the fire.

Prayers from here as well. Celebrate his life and the contributions he has made to all of you. I wish I could have met him, from all I have heard, he is one of a kind.
What you do today is important, you are trading a day in the rest of your life for it.

Dave and family, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.
While I never met Dusty in person, I am saddened by the news of his passing. If you can judge the quality of a man by the friends and legacy he leaves behind, then it tells me Dusty was top-tier.
RIP Dusty.

Thanks everybody, I was able to meet up with Eileen and Missy today, nice visit. I helped missy put the bags back onto Dusty's beloved Heritage springer classic, we charged the battery, Missy wiped it down and we took it for a little ride around town. It occurred to me that it was the first time our 2 bikes were in the same place at the same time, so I wanted to get some pictures (I drove my blue bike down to visit Eileen and Missy today) Dusty's is the white bike. Missy has some pictures on her good camera too, these are just off my phone. 300 or so miles for me today on the bike. I caught hell about the onion skin back tire on my bike from the ladies. Very observant females.

onion skin tire is a tire that is so worn out that it's thin like the skin of an onion. non safe.

I posted this up in the main forum, copied and pasted here. If I could please ask of all out honorary camp chickenbuck members abroad, a small favor. Could you all please do your best to contact other friends and members here that you know of who have ordered camp chickenbuck shirts, please help me spread the word quickly. I'd really like it if I could collect photos of all of our chickenbuck supporters out there wearing their shirts. Some have posted hunting photos over the years of an animal they have taken while wearing their lucky shirt, those older photos are perfect. They don't have to be new photos. But if I could collect a bunch of pictures of the good folks of the campfire proudly wearing their chickenbuck gear I'd like to display those photos at Dusty's funeral service this week. Camp chickenbuck was probably more important to Dusty than anyone else I know, he was just crazy about the whole thing. He loved it when people would ask him about his shirt or his hat, or about his tattoo on his arm (chickenbuck). Because then he was able to tell his fun story about his deer camp and the little boy with the imagination that dreamed up the chicken-buck etc. There will be lots of chickenbuck attire at the service this week and I do think it would be fun to show people (locally) that Dusty's chickenbuck really is kind of a big deal. If you feel so inclined to wear your shirts this week on Thursday in honor of Dusty, well that would be really nice as well. So, if you could, post up here, or PM me, or email me at roseaudave gmail.com Hit me with your pictures if you have one, maybe include your name and state or country of residence as well. First name is fine.
Something clever here.
