Hey guys, I generally hang out in the elk hunting forum but figured this was a better place for this question. I'm looking at getting a new tent and I was wondering if anyone had a few suggestions on some decent websites to get good pricing. I'm looking at getting the big agnes seedhouse sl2. Anything would help and I'm sure the sites would help with future purchases as well.

I've found some good prices at http://www.sunnysports.com/. All their stuff isn't cheaper but a lot is. I didn't see any Big Agnus tents on there but they have a bunch of others to look at.

Amazon is no longer the best price on the web. They got everyone in the habit of just going there and assuming they're the cheapest then raised their prices. I often go there for info on the item, then start searching for it elsewhere. I usually buy elsewhere.

yea I'm the same as you, Amazon is a good reference but these days I find waiting for ebay to have a good deal come around is the way to go. I find some great fly fishing gear on random websites so I was wondering what some people like to use as far as backpacking gear.

I've had good luck with Campmor.com, mountaingear.com, watch for sales or clearance and you can do well. I'm sure their not the cheapest, but we've had good results with each.

Don't forget to keep on eye on Big Agnes specials page. Some pretty good deals pop up there. They also have a link to a third party website for other specials/demo at a reduced rate.

If you are not in a hurry, then sign up for camo fire.

They have rotating specials and I have seen Big Agnes gear listed.

I'm addicted to camofire and steepandcheap. The apps on your phone alert you to specials.

it's hit or miss when looking for something specific a lot of it is last year's gear at a discount. also get more discounts if you let them send you e-mails

my current order is going to be
-Asolo boots at 30% off and right now the other places are selling them no more than 10% off of retail price or at retail
-Princeton Tec headlamp for $12.00! (60% off retail)
-a couple of carhartt t-shirt 2nd's for $8.00 (60% off retail)

Prolite Gear is a favorite of mine. They carry lightweight cutting edge backpacking gear from companies like Rab & Montane & Westcomb and others. Stuff you will never find at REI or Cabelas. Very good customer service as well.
