I met 2 young soldiers tonight in IAD airport, heading home to Travis. After thanking them, I asked where they were coming from, and they said Afghanistan...
Dam near welled up thinking of my 2 young friends ( son's age) that returned and ended their pain, and how it seems like taking their own lives after their duty is increasing, makes me mad as hell this is happening.
Sorry to those that knew this soldier,
And, THANK YOU to all you current and past service members for serving

Captain Blanchard was a great guy and a serious elk hunter. I talked to him last fall and since then we swapped a lot of PMs about elk hunting.
Was a kick in the crotch to all of us when we heard this news on Thursday morning.
A terrible tragedy for his family. Many prayers going to those closest to him and most affected by this bad event.
May all of our service members return home safely. May God watch out for all of them and their families.
God Bless you, Aaron. May the elk mountains you now hike be filled with bugles at your every call.
