Good evening. Long-time reader, not much of a poster here.
I wasn't sure whether to post this question here or in the Reloading section. I though I might get more response here.
I was at the range a couple of days ago and was cleaning up some discarded brass (.223 Rem). There was over 200 pieces of Federal nickel-plated brass as well as some Canadian military brass (IVI headstamp). When I got home and started sorting it out, I found 3 of the Federal headstamped ammo (FC-10)with the bullet pushed down into the case (not fired obviously) I pulled the bullets to salvage the brass, and found that the bullets are 62 grain with a "T" stamped on the base. I don't think it is reloaded brass because I had to swage the primer pockets. I can't figure out what bullet they are. I thought maybe Trophy Bonded, but Federal doesn't currently list that bullet in .223 Rem.
Anybody have any idea what I found? Just curious and thought the experts here could help.

OK, mystery solved. Information recieved leads me to conclude that they're Federal "LE223T3" rounds.

ATK has the Lake City Army Ammunition plant contract for running the joint, and some of that overrun is sold to the public. It's probably some of that.

Law enforcement armor piercing? I did a Google search on "LE223T3" and came up with Federal factory Law Enforcement ammo loaded with Trophy bonded bullets in nickel-plated cases. To ratsmacker: The Sheriff's dept were at the range the day before I was, so it was probably left by them..........they never clean up after thamselves. I'm in Canada, and have never seen this ammo in any stores or available for non-law enforcement use.

Federal produced Trophy Bonded Bearclaw Ammo in Nickel Cases for the .220 swift at one time.
It was a great Antelope and Mt. Lion round. I still have 19 rounds of it, it is my walking around ammo in my M-77.
