I have a 6mm Rem 10 twist and a bunch of Berger 70g MEF's just itching to work together.

Ken Waters says Re-19 for varmint weight, but offers no data for re-19 + 70g

Hornady manual suggests 4350 with the 70g

I'm looking for any proven combos you might care to share.

My favorite powder in the 6mm with the lighter varmint weight bullets is IMR4064 and the heavier varmint bullets Win 760

760 worked wonderfully well for mine.

a lot of testing, and the most accurate powder for 70 to 80-85 grain bullets was H 414.... same as W 760...

mine is on a long action, and 70 grainers were rocketing out of the barrel at 3800 fps +.... and accuracy was the best that I have had out of ANY rifle....with any bullet weight....

Been shooting the 6mm for many years. I always liked IMR-4064. My favorite bullet weight is 80 grain. I have loaded 60, 70, 75, 80, 85, 87, and 100 grain bullets over the years. I've used H380, Varget, and IMR-4064. All shot very well for me using 1-9 and 1-10 twist rifles.

The Sierra 80 grain Blitz is awesome on groundhogs here in PA.
My first experience with them was on a hog at 250 yards. I hit him in the back of the head. He never moved, didn't get the usual tail wagging from a head shot. When I walked up to him I found his head was vaporized. I never saw that before.

The 6mm is a great caliber and one of my favorites.

I have used 4064 in a lot of calibers for years, and it is one of the few powders I'd stockpile if limited to only a couple...

I have used the Hornady 75 grain HP for years in any 6mm or 243 I have had... but over the last year have ran thru a couple of boxes of those 80 grain Sierra Blitzes.

Gotta admit, they are going to be on my short list to stock up on once the current insanity ends. Hadn't tried them as they were not readily available locally, and the Hornadys were...

but now it would definitely be one of the first bullets I'd reach for when shooting prairie dogs, rock chucks or ground hogs back east.

I have about 3 pounds of IMR4064 and only use it in my 6mm and my 45/70. Since I don't shoot my 45/70 very much I'll be loading solely for my 6mm until things break loose with the market. I'm hoping the "panic buying" or what ever is going on stops soon. I also hope that due to this craziness, price don't go up.

I had been shooting the Nosler 80 gr. Ballistic Tips for a while but I was not satisfied with performance. I had a few hogs get to their holes. A week later I'd see the same hog. You're thinking, how'd he know it was the same hog? Because when I hit him in the head and checked him I found a scabbed over wound through his right shoulder. I then assumed the others that got away could have been the same or they died in the den. I went to the 75 gr. Hdy HP and then to the 75 gr. Hdy V-Max. Both performed quite well. I stayed with the HDY's until I discovered the 80 gr. Blitz. NASTY bullet!. Accurate in my custom M98 with a Shilen sporter 26 inch bbl and 1-10 twist. Imr-4064 behind it.

I've never ventured out of PA (except deer just over the boarder into MD) for hunting anything. I'm retired now and would really like to try some prairie dog and antelope long range hunting some day.

It's been a lot of years since I owned a 6mm but the tang safety Ruger I had really liked the 85 gr Speer boatail and IMR 4895.

I have a 6mm with 24 inch barrel and use 50 grains RE-19 and 75 grain V-Max.Iget a little over 3500 fps and good accuracy.Also used 50.5 Re-19 with 70 grain Ballistic Tips but was not as accurate with this bullet.
