No problem with a peep and the initial shot, wouldn't recommend it for the follow up.

I would shoot what you can see. I have an aimpoint on the 500/416 barrels of my Blaser S2 - not because I like the look or the technology, but because my sixty year old eyes can clearly see that red dot. The .375 barrels carry a 1.5 x 6 scope. This rifle shoots a 2.5" L/R L/R at 100 yards and the right barrel groups MOA in the .375. I would not hesitate to take a 200 yard shot. And because of the Blaser mounting system, the sights come off in a second for a follow-up walk about.

I would also strongly recommend not using the lead sled. You have a real good chance of cracking the stock.

I also don't use a lead sled with any break action rifles.

I use a post-rest when testing my 500NE double. Our range has vertical round metal pole rests (they may be fence poles). Each has a clamped on "ammo tray" that can be adjusted for height on the pole. I put a sandbag in this tray and slide it up to the right height for standing shots. It provides a steady hold and doesn't seem to affect point of impact compared with off-hand shots. My feet are in a slightly differnet position when I use the rest - I stand with my feet more apart as opposed to being more lined up for off-hand.

I'll try and get some pictures.

If you are a good handyman, you could make up a standing bench rest platform. That's how the likes of H&H fire their doubles during testing/regulation.

Thank You!

I use the 3/32 white front bead on my big bores, even had Krieghoff change my front sight on my 470 to a 3/32 white bead. I would also use a ghost ring in a second as long as it is properly fitted on the rifle, as in close to the eye. Having shot a AR15 and M1A for the last 15 years I like the peep sight. As long as it is large enough I think it as fast as a shallow V and more accurate.

Good luck.
