Down in my neck of the woods folks would get some rusty sheet iron and roll of Alabama chrome fix that mower right up .

Kinda thought Duct Tape was a 'bama bandaid, but what do I know?

I'd be unhappy in the extreme if Gus takes apart my JD today after a chipmunk. The odds that it happens are not as small as I would like.

Back a few years, the wifes twin sister and family went to yellowstone with their neighbors, and asked me and the wife to house, and dog sit for them.We were to watch two black labs, and the house, just sleep there at night.
First day, came back from work, and the two labs had completely
de-nuded the entire leather couch, right down to the wood frame.

They don't like it when master is gone. That's mainly when my dog would chew stuff up too. If I was gone for more time than she thought I "should" be gone, sumptin got wrecked. Crazy critters

Best park it in a weasel-free shed!

What is it (the new mower)?

Very similar to the old one, green and yellow.

Maybe we'll get some sunshine over the weekend so Pam can give it a try.

yes it will work just fine. I like to put some millet in part of the field if I can as well. a solid stand of millet with lots of annual sunflowers is also great. but you can't go wrong with regular old sunflowers. plus later in the year the deer will be in them. we got another 400 trees to plant today with the Pheasants Forever chapter I started here. I did that many or more on thursday, have shovel will travel!

we went with another big box variety of the JD. (got this one at Lowes) The other one was probably 10 yrs old, figure we got our money out of it, plus it will still cut grass out at the cabin.

Here's the new one, 54 inch deck, 26 HP. waiting for some sunshine to dry the grass a little.

It came with a free poly dump cart too, the boys are assembling that right now.

Dave, I worked in the insurance industry for 26 years. You wouldn't beleive some of the stuff that claims has received.

If that's the same poly cart I have, they are damn handy. But the floor will bust out if you habituatally toss firewood in it. A piece of ply graces mine now, along with stake sides doubling the volume.

Hope it is weasel proof.

Well we got another one done and graduated today. 2 down 2 to go and then we will be empty nesters. Sometimes I look forward to it and sometimes I dread it.

Nice mower Ma!
