I've got an old rawlings R-5 football made of alligator leather that I believe is from the seventies or earlier. Been laying around for years and I decided to do some research on it but I'm coming up completely empty! Any of you guys ever seen one of these or know anything about them?

Are you sure it wasn't made from an old, wrinkled pig? Unfortunately, this one is still alive but there have been others.

I think that one came from a steamin pile of..... Nevermind. Back to the subject. It is absolutely alligator leather. I will see if I can get some pics posted soon.
