Stan, those are just target loads. They are 4" long so they look big but they are pretty simple. The hunting loads are a bit more complex, shorter and not quite so elegant.

Here is a .45-100 load with a recreation of the original Sharps Long Range bullet. The overall length here is 4.500" and the bullet weighs 550 grs. The powder charge is 107.5 grs of Swiss 1.5fg.

very cool! I got to see an old sharps up close and personal last fall, EvilTwin even gave me a case from his 44-90 for my collection. that is a hunk of lead to send down range!

I like shooting targets where you have time to get to the spotting scope to see the hit. thanks for sharing Brent! always neat to get a glimpse into someone else's hobby.

Ran across this today.

"ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Outdoors officials say a woman in northern Minnesota was injured this week in an attack by a black bear.

The Department of Natural Resources says the woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in the attack Monday night. The DNR says a conservation officer killed the bear after it ran toward him.

The agency didn't say where the attack occurred or release other details ahead of a planned news conference to discuss it.

The DNR says it's the fifth documented bear attack on a person that resulted in injuries since 1987."

Sounds like the frog choking is only going to get worse this weekend with the new storm headed up the Eastern seaboard this weekend.

Seems like were living in a rain forest here in WI. Been raining for the past 3 days. Really creating problems for the farmers with the heavy soil.

I don't think the sun has been out here since Sunday afternoon. More clouds and light rain called for on this weekend. Ma Nature must be saving up all the sun for the Back to the 50's car show and Fourth of July weekends? We can hope any way.

We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday, it's clouded over this morning though, hoping for nice weather for our little car show tomorrow.

I may be getting some much unwanted free time coming up here. My daughter's summer softball season is to start this Tuesday. Only problem is she came up with wrist pain last week. X-rays reveals a partially healed broken wrist. Of course it's on her pitching hand, which mean's she's been keeping this under wraps for at least several weeks. I always said her arm would just about have to fall off to keep her off the mound, and unfortunately it looks like that is true. We get more results on Monday. She's most likely done for the summer though.

That being the case, I may actually get a chance to get reacquainted with my fishing gear. How's the fish biting up north, Dave?

I wouldn't know personally but I've heard it's been quite good.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's throwing arm, I sure hope that heels properly.
